We aren’t in the sun as much, we spend more time indoors (no fresh air), we move from hot to cold to hot and make our internal heating/cooling system work overtime and we aren’t exercising as much. Put all of this together and you are probably finding yourself with the sniffles, sore throats, coughing and possibly even seasonal allergies.

Unfortunately sore throats tend to pop up now and then – even in a healthy family. I find that if we spend a lot of time going in and out on super cold days (without wearing the appropriate attire), getting wet in the rain or snow and not changing into dry clothes, appears to tax the immune system a bit.

Today we are surrounded with so many options for sweeteners. Some are good and some are bad – really bad, and even believed to be deadly to the body. I’m always surprised that as human beings, we pay little to no attention to what we put in and on our bodies. Now that summer break is over and kids are back to school – we need to start becoming more proactive with our children’s health, and our own.

Don’t get me wrong, we should be proactive year round, but during the summer we’re outside more getting fresh air, we’re getting loaded with Vitamin D, getting more sleep and getting more exercise. With school back in session, our children are sitting in air conditioned schools, windows closed, anti-bacterial soap flowing down the halls, little outside time, little exercise and lots of germs.

The first two weeks.

I’ve been on the road, full-time, for two weeks. That’s 14 days. I’ve never been away from home this long at one time, so it seems like such a long time. But, then to think that we have 50 more weeks to go – it seems like I’m on a road that is taking forever to reach it’s end.
